Founded in 1978, Bob Luderman Associates, Inc. has been representing ICS in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia, and Western PA since 1992; almost as long as ICS has been around. Veterans of the early years, Bob Luderman, Sr. and Bob Luderman, Jr. have witnessed first hand the growth of ICS from a startup to a successful global enterprise. “We started selling ICS when the technology was still new and the cost of diamond chain high,” remembers the junior Luderman. “ However, even then the industry could see the added value and we sold units.” In Bob's opinion, the introduction of the gas saws really propelled the diamond chain business."The introduction of the gas powered saws in the late 1990's opened up the use of diamond chain to a larger segment of contractors. Not needing a separate power source to run a concrete-cutting chainsaw helped make the cost per cut much lower. With the continued improvements to the saws, both gas and hydraulic, and upgrades to the chains, like the SealPRO® and the Force4™, ICS continues to make the whole diamond chain-cutting process more and more affordable." Education has always been a key approach in selling ICS products and Bob Jr., a former teacher, is well equipped for the job. “Educating the construction industry about Diamond Chain Technology is a lot like teaching school. You start with the basic idea and graduate to real world applications. If you are successful, you see the light come on and know you’ve got a new customer.” |
