| JAKE'S TAKE: It’s a Technology Not a Tool | |||||
Many users over the last decade have looked at the ICS product concept
as simply a “concrete chainsaw” with limited purpose.
Some professionals even say “use it for what it was designed
for” as if its sole purpose or design intent was cutting corners.
The fact is that the ICS product concept is based on Diamond Chain
Technology and I must emphasize the word “technology”.
Diamond chain done right allows for a myriad of possibilities, including different tools and sawing/grinding/power source platform types. This is why today there are 6 main models of saw and over 60 combinations of chain and bar for many applications. Diamond chain technology will move to new uses in 2009 including mounted and floor sawing devices, along with all new ways to cut alternate materials. There is much more future to this technology, and simply pigeon-holing ICS as a singular purpose tool will limit you. Jake VanderZanden |
